WHEN CAN WE DISCONNECT HD ACCESS ON THE ACCOUNT?
HD Access is required for all customers with leased HD or HD-DVR receivers.
Exceptions:
Not required for locals in standard definition in Alaska or Hawaii.
Not required if locals arent available in customer's market through DIRECTV via satellite, and they upgraded equipment through Locals Off-Air Option.
Not required in markets where equipment upgraded through:
$0 Locals Upgrade (72 to 99/103 satellite)
$0 Locals Upgrade – MPEG-4
Disconnect HD Access only if one of the above exceptions applies, or if receiver is "owned." Otherwise, customer must disconnect and return leased HD or HD-DVR receiver and replace it with a non-HD receiver. (Must fulfill remainder of any applicable service agreement before replacing receiver to avoid early cancellation fee.)
Expired base packages can add HD Access without changing to a current base package.
Example: Add HD Access to Total Choice or Total Choice Plus.
